Jacques Deshaies
Journalist and host of DLV radio
Passionate about cars and motorsport, Jacques worked on organizing the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières for more than thirty years.
He was the president in 2004 during the relaunch of the event. He also raced for 10 years driving cars in championships like the CTCC.
He is now the promoter of the Nissan Micra Cup. Besides his racing passion, he is also an automotive journalist. He contributed to the original Guide de l'Auto (The Auto Guide) with Jacques Duval.
He hosted the show of the same name on the RadioMédia network. He has also hosted various TV shows such as Autotest on Cogeco, Automobile on Rogers and was a contributor to the Guide de l'Auto on MaTV.
He is currently part of the program Propulsion on TVA as well as being the owner of the magazine AUTOMOBILE for the past 12 years. He is actively working on several projects that will see the light of day shortly.
Denis Duquet
Automotive journalist and radio columnist
A full-time automotive columnist for several decades, Denis Duquet has been editor-in-chief of several publications, including CAA's Touring magazine.
He was a regular columnist for the newspaper La Presse for 16 years, and in 2000, he became head of the magazine Le Monde de l'Auto which is still published.
Not to mention his participation at this time in the early days of Auto123.
He was also co-author of Le Guide de l’Auto (The Car Guide) for three decades.
Denis participated, as a columnist, in the TV show of the same name presented on the MAtv channel from 1999 to 2016.
Occasionally, he acts as a consultant for automotive issues. He is a member of AJAC and the North American Car and Truck of the Year Jury or NACTOY.
Piero Facchin
Journalist and design columnist
The pinnacle of design and engineering combined with car racing, this is what fascinates Piero Facchin.
As an architect and designer, he is fascinated by all that is beautiful but especially by the creative process that applies to objects in general.
His passion for cars comes from far away, when his father brought him to the Circuit du Mont-Tremblant in the '60s where he got his first taste of racing.
He is a fan of F1 and any form of racing. He is comfortable in front of the camera and behind the microphone having hosted, for several years, TV shows on architecture and design as well as sports programs.
He had a column in the hugely popular "Guide de l'Auto" aired on MATV, which was entitled “Art and Automotive Design” for two Seasons.
Piero Facchin is happy to be part of Derriere le Volant to present you with topics on automotive design and all that surrounds the wonderful world of the automobile.
Éric Descarries
Automotive journalist and radio columnist
Member in good standing of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) for thirty years, Eric is a fan of everything related to the world of cars and trucks.
Having experienced the incredible era cars in the sixties and seventies, he has, since the early eighties, participated in many publications including popular buying guides, magazines on new cars or old and even trucks of any size including heavy trucks.
He is also known to TV viewers for his race analysis including those of the NASCAR series for more than 26 years.
And of course, Eric has opinions about the current evolution of the automobile, mechanical or electrical field.
He is also a tireless traveler whose images of vintage cars and vans come from many countries around the world.
On the dawn of his seventy years, he is not about to stop!
